Monterey Environmental Solutions and Services (M.E.S.S.) was founded in 2013, with the purpose of creating a company that cared for its workers, paid a fair wage and provided services with integrity.

Our main service is to remove hazardous materials from buildings. Due to the age of most buildings in the California we’re called on to remove asbestos, lead, mold-containing materials in homes, commercial buildings, schools, and military facilities. Sometimes we’re responding to emergencies such as fire and water loss and other times we’re removing the hazards prior to a remodel or full building demolition.

We are proud to live in such a beautiful part of the world and keeping our community clean & safe by removing hazards is our number one goal.

CEO

Ryan has over 20 years of experience managing government and civilian projects involving construction, safety, and hazardous materials. Ryan takes clients through the often scary prospect of hazardous material, step by step. He’ll lay out your options and mobilize his team and our local partners. He’ll make you happy, and he’ll keep your house safe!

Mike Fort

Sales Manager

Mike began his career in the environmental & construction fields in 1995 after graduating from San Jose State University and has not looked back. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies with an emphasis on Business Management. He quickly landed a job for an environmental consulting firm in the San Francisco Bay Area conducting surveys, taking samples & drafting abatement procedures. Holding many professional certifications and over 25 years of experience in the abatement business he instills confidence in his workability. Besides his educational background, his forte’ is his uncanny ability to quickly and effectively design common-sense solutions in a not-so-common sense world. Mike was born & raised in Santa Cruz County where he and his wife and three kids reside. On his days off he enjoys surfing, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.

Antonio Lebron

Operations Manager

Antonio has been on the environmental/Abatement side of construction since 2013. He started as a crew lead man then worked his way up to supervisor, superintendent, and now Operations Manager for MESS where he continues to learn and grow.
Antonio Lebron ensures each project gets completed to the client’s expectation, all while in compliance with EPA & OSHA regulations. He is a certified asbestos contractor/supervisor, construction safety & Health, EPA lead renovator, Hazwoper, and Aerial lift operator.
He takes ownership and pride in each project.

Ruben Chavez-MESS Clean Up in the Central Coast of California

Ruben Chavez

Project manager/Estimator & Hazardous Materials/Transportation Manager

Environmental Management is where Ruben Chavez began his career. He started off as a Hazardous Waste Technician working for a company in the Bay Area and made his way to Hazardous Waste Driver, duties included packaging and transportation of hazardous waste and emergency response clean ups. In 1994 Ruben and his partner decided to open up their own company to provide the Bay Area, San Benito and Monterey counties a full service Environmental Management Company. In 2008, after closing the doors to his company Ruben decided to go in the direction of water and fire restoration, he worked 10 years with a local restoration company where his duties included fire, water restoration work as well as asbestos abatement. In 2018, Ruben moved over to Monterey Environmental Solutions & Services as an Asbestos Supervisor, Project Manager and Estimator.

Mario Luis

Project Manager/Estimator

Mario has been involved in home repair since 1988. He first learned his skills while working on his family’s rentals. He also operated his own handyman service and helped investors flip properties for several years.
He is a Certified Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor.
Mario is a lifelong resident of Santa Cruz County and in addition to English, he speaks Portuguese and Spanish.
